MCR3U Functions (Grade 11)
The first true university-prep math course, and the Grade 11 mark universities actually see on early applications. Function notation, transformations, exponentials and trig identities all debut here — it is the steepest single step in the Ontario math ladder.

Quadratic functions: max/min problems and complex roots

Where it leads
Required before MHF4U, and the mark most programs read as your math signal in early admission rounds. Feeds MHF4U, MCV4U and MDM4U.
PREREQUISITE
Assessment & credit
Standard Ontario assessment: 70% coursework, 30% final evaluation. Completion ships as an official transcript, OUAC-listed and recognized by public and private schools.
How we run it
Small groups, online or in person (Markham campus); semester, summer and winter intakes, scheduled around the student’s Top 6 plan.
