SNC1W Grade 9 Science
The de-streamed Grade 9 survey (formerly SNC1D) that touches all four disciplines — biology, chemistry, physics and earth science — while building the lab habits everything later depends on: fair tests, careful measurement, honest error.
Inside the course
Biology: sustainable ecosystems and human impact
Chemistry: atoms, elements and the periodic table
Physics: electricity and electrical applications
Earth and space: exploration and our place in it
Scientific investigation and lab-report skills
Where it leads
Leads to SNC2D, which in turn opens all three Grade 11 U-level sciences.
PREREQUISITE
None — the Grade 9 entry point.
Assessment & credit
Standard Ontario assessment: 70% coursework, 30% final evaluation. Completion ships as an official transcript, OUAC-listed and recognized by public and private schools.
How we run it
Small groups, online or in person (Markham campus); semester, summer and winter intakes, scheduled around the student’s Top 6 plan.
