PSK4U Introductory Kinesiology (Grade 12)
The science of human movement: anatomy and physiology, biomechanics, energy systems and motor learning. For kinesiology, physiotherapy-track and health-science applicants it is both a required credit at several programs and a genuinely useful preview of first year.
Inside the course
Anatomy and physiology of the moving body
Biomechanics: forces, levers and movement analysis
Energy systems, training and fitness principles
Motor learning and skill acquisition
Sport in society: psychology and ethics
Where it leads
Named by kinesiology and some health-science programs; a strategic Top-6 science alternative when three lab sciences would overload a term.
