Python Coding Group Classes for Beginners

What this course is

Python Group Basic is a beginner-level coding course from STEMRise. Students learn the fundamentals of the Python programming language in a group class, starting from no prior programming experience.

Format

The course is taught as a group class within STEMRise's Coding Training program, so students work through the material alongside classmates at the same starting level rather than one-to-one.

Who it suits

Students who are new to Python, or new to coding altogether, and who prefer learning in a group setting. If you are unsure whether the basic level is the right starting point for your child, contact STEMRise before enrolling.

Who this course is for

This beginner Python class is built for students starting from nothing, in a group of classmates at the same level.

  • A child who has never written a line of code and needs a first programming language that is readable
  • A student who has tried block-based coding and is ready to type real Python instead
  • A learner who does better with classmates around them than in one-on-one tutoring
  • A family in the GTA looking for a 60-minute weekly coding class rather than a long intensive
  • A parent unsure where their child should start — contact STEMRise before enrolling and ask whether the basic level is the right entry point
