What this course is
Minecraft Group Level 1 is the entry point of STEMRise's Minecraft coding stream. Students work in a group setting and learn the first stage of programming through a game they already know, so the ideas land in a familiar setting rather than an abstract one.
Format
Classes run as a group, taught by a STEMRise instructor. Level 1 covers the introductory material in the stream; students who finish it are ready to continue to the next level.
What students work on
- Coding fundamentals introduced through Minecraft builds and challenges
- Breaking a task into steps and testing whether it worked
- Working alongside other students on shared problems
Who it suits
Beginners with no prior coding experience who enjoy Minecraft and learn well in a group class. No previous programming background is required for Level 1.
