课程简介

G7–G8 是数学学习方式发生明显变化的阶段。学生开始从相对直观的计算和图形，进入更多 比例关系、代数表达、方程、坐标、几何推理和数据分析。到了 G8，很多内容已经在为 G9 高中数学做准备。

这个阶段学得扎实，孩子进入高中后会更容易适应函数、代数和建模；如果基础概念之间没有连起来，到了 G9 往往会突然觉得数学“变抽象了”。

STEMRise 课程特色

  • 1. 先看“知识有没有连起来”

    G7–G8 很多内容不是单独存在的。

    比如比例会连接到线性关系，坐标会连接到函数图像，代数表达会直接影响之后的方程和函数。

    老师会通过摸底判断学生：

    • 哪些基础已经稳定
    • 哪些概念之间还没有建立联系
    • 哪些内容需要补
    • 哪些内容可以提前往高中推进

  • 2. 紧跟学校课程，但超越学校授课

    学生可以把学校的 Homework、Worksheet、Quiz、Test 和 Notes 带到课堂。

    老师会结合这些材料解决当前问题，同时把相关知识往前延伸。

    比如学校正在学 Ratio，课堂不会只把这一章做完，还会进一步让学生理解：

    比例关系怎样变成表格、图像和方程。

    这样进入 G9 后不会觉得这些概念突然出现。

  • 3. 提前建立高中数学的表达方式

    G7–G8 是很适合开始训练数学表达的阶段。

    学生会逐渐习惯：

    • 用变量表示未知量
    • 用方程表达关系
    • 用图像观察变化
    • 用步骤解释思路
    • 用数学语言说明结果

    这些习惯会直接影响后续 G9–G12 数学学习。

  • 4. 基础好的学生可以提前进入 G9 内容

    如果当前课程掌握得稳定，可以逐步加入：

Who this course is for

This small-group math class is written for Grade 7 and Grade 8 students and the families deciding what to do about math before high school.

  • A Grade 7 student who was fine with arithmetic but is now losing marks the moment questions involve ratios, percent or variables.
  • A Grade 8 student whose parents want the year to be real preparation for Grade 9 math, not just the end of elementary math.
  • A student who can get the right answer but cannot explain the steps, so tests with "show your work" come back with marks missing.
  • A student who finds algebraic expressions, equations and the coordinate plane disconnected from each other.
  • A strong student who is on top of the school course and is ready to begin linear relations, slope and graphing early.
  • A family in the GTA looking for middle school math tutoring that works from the child's own homework, quizzes and tests.
